Flagship IT Hub of the T-Technologies Group in Saint Petersburg: a unified management system for 190 screens for navigation, communication, and the organization of an efficient digital office environment

  • About the Company
The IT hub of the T-Technologies Group in Saint Petersburg is the company’s flagship technology office in the northwest of Russia. The space is located in the Ferrum II business center and is designed according to the “city within a city” concept. Up to 2,500 specialists can work here simultaneously: developers, analysts, ML engineers, and information security experts.

The office occupies ten floors and includes various functional spaces: work areas, meeting rooms, coworking spaces, a cafeteria, fitness zones, a terrace, recreation areas, coffee points, and service rooms. At this scale, it is important that employees can easily navigate the space, receive information in a timely manner, and interact with the office’s digital infrastructure.

To address these tasks, the hub uses an extensive network of screens. The building is equipped with more than 190 devices of various types — interactive panels, professional displays, and large LED screens.
  • Project Objectives
Our team was tasked with uniting the entire screen infrastructure of the office into a single management system.

The displays had to perform several roles at once. On the one hand, they needed to help employees navigate a large space. On the other, they had to become a channel for corporate communications, a tool for displaying operational data, and part of a unified digital office environment.

At the same time, the infrastructure included different types of devices and usage scenarios. The system had to enable centralized content management, quick information updates, and, when necessary, the addition of new scenarios for different teams.

It was also important to ensure the ability to display external services and data dashboards on screens, synchronize content across groups of displays, and use screens for broadcasting internal events.
  • Project implementation stages
Connecting the devices to the SMARTPLAYER platform made it possible to unite all screens into a single network and implement several usage scenarios. Screens perform different tasks depending on the zone and context:

    Navigation
For office navigation, interactive touch panels with a custom widget are installed. With its help, users can quickly find the desired location: meeting rooms, kitchens, coffee points, cloakrooms, the cafeteria, and other areas.

The system supports navigation between floors, allowing users to build a route to any point within the entire building. This is especially convenient for a large office with dozens of meeting rooms and service areas. A total of 8 interactive panels are used for navigation.

    Music
The digital infrastructure is also used to create an atmosphere in the office space. The system provides background music in restrooms, coffee points, and the fitness zone.

This is a small but important detail: music makes recreation areas more comfortable and helps create a pleasant environment for employees.

    Monitoring
Some of the screens are used as a tool for team operations. Using an authorization widget, data from external services and project dashboards can be displayed on the screens.

Teams use these screens to display relevant metrics: number of users, revenue, key business indicators, and other data. Engineers can quickly connect and configure data display on the screen according to team needs.

Thus, operational metrics become part of the office environment and always remain in employees’ field of view.

    LED screens and information panels
Large LED screens and panels are installed in the lobby and elevator areas on each floor. They are used to display visual content, announcements, and corporate messages.

Invitations to events, holiday greetings, and seasonal visual themes are published here. The content is regularly updated, so the office space is constantly changing and reflects current events within the company.

On the first floor, in the reception area, there is a large screen that greets employees and office guests. Nearby, two LED panels are installed, operating synchronously and displaying unified content.

    Digital Signage
Professional displays are placed in the cafeteria, coworking spaces, halls, open space work areas, and near coffee points. They function as a channel of internal communication.

Corporate news, videos, and messages from various company departments are broadcast on the screens. These displays are especially active in the cafeteria, where employees spend time during breaks and can comfortably watch informational content.

In addition, the system allows switching screens to live broadcasts of internal events. For example, speeches by executives can be displayed on screens in recreation areas with sound, so employees can watch them during breaks. After the broadcast ends, the screens automatically return to their standard mode.

  • Results
The screen infrastructure of the IT hub has transformed into a полноценная digital ecosystem. Management of 190 devices is carried out from a single platform, which significantly simplifies the work of the team responsible for content and technical support.

Interactive navigation has helped solve the problem of orientation in a large space. Employees find meeting rooms and service areas faster, while new employees and office guests adapt to the building more easily.

The screen network has become an important internal communication channel. Through the displays, employees regularly receive information about company events, initiatives from different teams, and corporate news. In recreation areas, screens allow employees to watch live broadcasts of internal events and stay connected to company life even during breaks.

Development teams and product units have gained additional value. The ability to display operational metrics on screens allows them to monitor project performance in real time and stay focused on key results.

LED screens and visual content shape the atmosphere of the space and make the office more dynamic. Seasonal themes, greetings, and event announcements help maintain a sense of a unified environment within a large technological hub.

The system is easily scalable: when new tasks arise, additional devices and usage scenarios can be quickly connected. Thanks to this, the screen infrastructure continues to evolve along with the office and the needs of its teams.
